Brajeshwar Banerjee (Ban) is a partner in the Transactions group of KPMG Tax Corporation. He has more than 20 years of experience in serving fund and asset management clients working closely with clients’ tax and legal teams in planning and advising on matters relating to Japan market entry, structuring and financing of investments into and from Japan, tax risk management, tax audit defense and resolutions and assistance with Japanese tax compliance matters. A resident of Japan for over 20 years, Ban is one of the few people in the Japanese tax space who is fully bilingual in Japanese and English. Ban began his career with Arthur Andersen, joined KPMG in 2002 and became a partner in 2008. He is a published author and commentator, is recognized as a tax controversy leader for Japan by the International Tax Review and participates in the activities of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) Japan and the Futures Industry Association (FIA) Japan.
